For a Hindu or Sikh child Diwali, the festival
of light, is as exciting as a birthday, Christmas and fireworks
night rolled into one.
At the end of this full day workshop each child will have learnt
the story of Diwali, be able to identify and name the main characters,
and have experienced many of the activities enjoyed by Hindu and
Sikh children during Diwali.

09:05 - 09:55 Diwali Assembly - Whole School
The assembly will open with sacred Hindu music and will take your
children on a journey to Nepal in late October for the enchanting
festival of Diwali.
The story of Rama and Sita will be retold using hand cut shadow
puppets. With photographs on the OHP we will tour Kathmandu, a city
twinkling with tiny clay divas. We'll see children making colourful
rangoli patterns; Holy cows wondering the streets adorned with garlands
of marigolds; and as the festival reaches its climax, we'll end
the tour of this wonderful city with a thrilling display of fireworks.
